Start practising freeThe Pulsifi assessment is a set of six short online tests used by employers, mostly in Singapore and Malaysia, to screen applicants. Three are questionnaires about your personality, work interests and preferred work culture. Three are timed reasoning tests: verbal, logical and numerical. Each takes about 5 to 15 minutes. The reasoning tests are where practice moves your score, so that is where to spend your time. If you're new to this kind of test, start with our guide to psychometric tests.
- 6 tests: personality, work interest, work culture, verbal, logical and numerical reasoning.
- 5–15 minutes each, according to Pulsifi. Budget about an hour if you get all six.
- Personality uses the Big Five model; work interest uses the Holland codes (RIASEC); both are rated on a 5-point scale.
- Employers get two fit scores: fit with the role and fit with the culture.
- Results are valid for one year for similar roles.
- forge has 378 Pulsifi-style practice items across all six tests.

Applications rose by 40% in the first year, although the share of applicants who reached the final interview fell.Statement: fewer applicants reached the final interview in the first year.
- Q2. Branch A's revenue rose from S$1.2m to S$1.5m. Branch B's rose from S$0.8m to S$1.1m. Which branch grew faster in percentage terms?
- Q3. What comes next? 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, ?
Quick summary
- Pulsifi assessments have six parts: personality, work interest, work culture, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning and numerical reasoning.
- Each part takes around 5 to 15 minutes, and you take them online after creating a Pulsifi account.
- The personality test is based on the Big Five and the work interest test on the Holland codes, both answered on a 5-point scale.
- Employers see a role-fit score and a culture-fit score that combine your test results with your CV.
- Practise the three reasoning tests; answer the three questionnaires honestly and consistently.
What are the six Pulsifi tests?
Pulsifi groups its candidate tests into psychometric questionnaires and cognitive ability tests. Your employer chooses which ones to send, so you may get all six or just a few.
| Test | Type | What it measures | Right answers? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personality | Questionnaire | Big Five traits at work | No |
| Work interest | Questionnaire | Holland codes (RIASEC): which kinds of work you enjoy | No |
| Work culture | Questionnaire | The work values you care about most | No |
| Verbal reasoning | Cognitive, timed | Judging statements about a passage: True, False or Cannot Say | Yes |
| Logical reasoning | Cognitive, timed | Finding the rule in a grid of shapes and choosing the missing one | Yes |
| Numerical reasoning | Cognitive, timed | Solving practical problems from tables or graphs | Yes |
Pulsifi doesn't publish question counts for each test, only that each takes about 5 to 15 minutes. Expect the reasoning tests to feel tight on time, as most graduate aptitude tests do.
How does Pulsifi score you?
Pulsifi combines your test results with the information in your CV and gives the employer two fit scores: how well you fit the role, and how well you fit the company's culture. The employer decides which qualities matter for the job, and the platform ranks applicants against that. So the same answers can produce a strong fit for one role and a weaker one for another.
That has two practical consequences:
- The reasoning tests are the part you control. They have right answers and practice reliably lifts your score.
- There is no "perfect" personality to fake. Different roles reward different profiles. Answering as you think an employer wants usually produces an inconsistent profile, which is worse than an honest one.
Who uses Pulsifi?
Pulsifi was founded in Southeast Asia and most of its hiring clients are in Singapore and Malaysia. Its website features Nestlé, KPMG, Heineken, L'Oréal, PropertyGuru and SSMC as customers, and KPMG Malaysia's ACES graduate programme is advertised on Pulsifi's job portal. That doesn't mean every role at these firms uses Pulsifi: employers often run different tools for different programmes and countries. The surest sign is the link in your invitation email. If you're applying to banks in the region, our Singapore banks guide covers the tests they use.
What the Pulsifi candidate experience is like
- Create a Pulsifi account. You sign up on Pulsifi's platform rather than through a one-click link.
- Complete your profile. You may be asked for your CV and personal details, which feed into the fit scores.
- Take the tests. Each is a separate module of about 5 to 15 minutes. Do the reasoning tests when you're fresh.
- Video interview (some employers). Pulsifi also offers recorded video interviews. Its FAQ says webcam footage is processed in your browser and the raw video doesn't leave your device.
Pulsifi's help centre says completed assessments stay valid for one year, so if you apply to a similar role within 12 months you may not have to sit them again.

1. Practise the verbal test format
Pulsifi's verbal reasoning test gives you a short passage and a statement to judge as True, False or Cannot Say. The hard part is Cannot Say: the passage must actually settle the question, and general knowledge doesn't count. Our Cannot Say guide shows the four patterns that trip people up.
2. Get quick with business data
The numerical test uses tables of business figures: revenue, costs, prices, capacity. Percentage change, ratios and multi-step calculations come up again and again. On forge's free numerical tests, candidates get percentage and ratio questions right only 59% of the time, mostly because they divide by the wrong base.
3. Learn the pattern families for logical reasoning
Pulsifi describes its logical test as examining patterns in a grid and choosing the shape that fills the missing slot. Nearly every item uses a small set of rules: rotation, shading, counting, position. Learn them once with our pattern families guide.
4. Answer the questionnaires as yourself
Read the 5-point scale labels on each screen; they change between "Strongly disagree", "Not interested" and "Not important" depending on the test. Use the full range rather than sitting on the middle option, and stay consistent.
Pulsifi compared with SHL and Aon tests
If you've taken SHL or Aon tests before, Pulsifi will feel familiar but shorter. The main differences:
- Fit scores, not just percentiles. SHL and Aon usually report how you rank against a comparison group. Pulsifi blends results into role-fit and culture-fit scores.
- Interests and culture are measured too. Few graduate batteries include a RIASEC interest test or a culture questionnaire.
- Regional focus. SHL and Aon are global; Pulsifi is concentrated in Southeast Asia.
Many applicants in Singapore get Pulsifi from one employer and SHL from another. The skills transfer: see our SHL test guide and Aon guide.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Pulsifi assessment?
Pulsifi is a Singapore and Malaysia based talent platform. Its candidate assessment combines six short tests: three psychometric questionnaires (personality, work interest and work culture) and three cognitive tests (verbal, logical and numerical reasoning). Employers use the results to score how well you fit the role and the company culture.
How long does the Pulsifi assessment take?
Pulsifi says each assessment takes about 5 to 15 minutes. If an employer sends all six, budget roughly an hour in total and do them in a quiet place in one or two sittings.
Can you fail the Pulsifi assessment?
The three reasoning tests have right and wrong answers, so a low score there can screen you out. The personality, work interest and work culture questionnaires have no right answers; employers compare your profile with what the role and team need.
Which companies use Pulsifi?
Pulsifi's own website features Nestlé, KPMG, Heineken, L'Oréal, PropertyGuru and SSMC as customers, and KPMG Malaysia's ACES graduate programme is listed on Pulsifi's job portal. Use is strongest in Singapore and Malaysia. Employers don't always say which platform they use, so check the link in your invitation.
Do Pulsifi results expire?
Pulsifi's candidate help centre says completed assessments are valid for one year, so you may not need to retake them when applying for similar roles within 12 months.
How do I prepare for the Pulsifi assessment?
Practise the three reasoning tests under time pressure, because that is where preparation changes your score. For the questionnaires, read each statement carefully and answer consistently and honestly; trying to guess an ideal profile usually backfires.
